Dirt Devil Keeps Your Home Clean

No matter how old you are, there is a good chance that you or someone you know have owned a Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner before.  It’s such a popular brand, that some people may even say, “Let me go get my Dirt Devil” when referring to their vacuum cleaner.  The interesting part about that is that Dirt Devil doesn’t make the highest quality vacuums, but they are still one of the most popular in the industry.

Why Do People Like Dirt Devil so Much?

The classic red Dirt Devil color has been in many households across the world.  While they manufacture different models and styles of vacuums, the most popular is their handheld model.

Make no mistake about it, Dirt Devil manufactures some quality vacuum cleaners, but they are known for having some of the best prices.  Many customers aren’t impressed with the suction level on many Dirt Devil vacuums, but the low prices make up for the lack of power.  When consumers don’t have to pay a lot for a product, they won’t get too upset when it’s not the best quality.  That is one reason why Dirt Devil vacuums have such good reviews, even when they don’t make the best products overall.

Dirt Devil Cordless Bagless Stick Vacuum, BD20035RED

A lot of Dirt Devil vacuum cleaners are designed for light duties, and this one is no exception.  However, it is more powerful than a handheld vacuum, but has the same versatility since it is cordless.  One of the main issues that people have with cordless vacuums in general is the weak battery life.  Dirt Devil addressed that issue with their Accucharge technology, which ensures that you will always have a strong battery when you need it.

This is a lightweight vacuum that can be used on both hardwood floors and carpet.  It may not be suitable for doing the heavy cleaning throughout the house, but it is nice to have in your closet when you need to do some quick cleaning.

Dirt Devil Reach Pro Bagless Stick Vacuum, SD12515B

Having a vacuum cleaner that you can use throughout your entire house is convenient.  Having one with multiple attachments to clean even the highest and toughest-to-reach places is even better.  That’s what you are getting with this Dirt Devil Vacuum.

Whether you need to clean under furniture, ceiling fans, curtains or drapes or anywhere else around your home, this vacuum comes with an attachment that can help you out.  The only problem with the vacuum being so versatile is that it is not that great at doing one certain thing.  It basically has the power of a handheld vacuum, but it is a stick vacuum.  This may deter some people away from buying it, but the versatility is definitely a selling point.  If you are going to have to buy another vacuum anyway for the tough-to-reach places, then you might as well invest in one that will take care of all your needs.

How it all Began

Philip Geier founded the company, which is now known as Dirt Devil, in his garage back in 1905.  Vacuum cleaners were always the main item that his company manufactured, but they also tried their hand at washing machines, mixers and hair dryers.  Ownership has changed hands numerous times over the years, but that hasn’t changed the brand at all.

It was around 1955 when Dirt Devil built a vacuum cleaner with its cyclone technology, which has helped them sell more than 25 million units to date.  You may also hear some people refer to Dirt Devil as “Royal,” but that’s because “Royal Manufacturing” was the original name of the company.  The Royal line is still in manufacturing as a higher quality product than Dirt Devil, but most people know the name Dirt Devil as being associated with vacuum cleaners.

Dirt Devil was limited to just retail chains like Wal-Mart and K-Mart during its earlier years, but its patented cyclone technology really gave the company a boost.  That technology arguably helped Dirt Devil become the widely known name in the floor care industry that it is today.  They now manufacture many different models of vacuum cleaners, but they all have the classic red color, of course.
